NEPCON China 2015 a Resounding Success in Shanghai

NEPCON China 2015, co-organized by Reed Exhibitions and CCPIT - Electronics & Information Industry Sub-Council, took place at the Shanghai Expo Center from 21 to 23 April 2015. The three-day event, an annual industry highlight, was a complete success, bringing together nearly 22,000 trade visitors and high-quality buyers, as well as 450 leading brand names from 22 countries and regions worldwide.

As Asia’s biggest and most popular electronics industry event, NEPCON China keeps up with market trends and gathers resources from all stakeholders to present a comprehensive event that covers SMT, new electronics materials, soldering, dispensing, electronics automation, measurement and other innovative technologies and products across the world.

The event also featured an enticing range of seminars covering topics as varied as IOV, printed electronics, new materials application, mobile telecommunications, smart factories and smart wearables. The side activities also provided opportunities for in-depth exchange. Industry practitioners shared new technologies and solutions, which helped to tap into the industry potential and stimulate growth.

One-Stop Electronics Trade Platform – A Popular Leading Concept

Through 30 years of growth, NEPCON China has become an influential event that serves as a one-stop trade platform.  The exhibition links exhibitors with top quality buyers.  It also helps exhibitors and buyers to consolidate their relationships.

NEPCON China 2015 brought together large numbers of trade visitors. Initial statistics show that the three-day event attracted nearly 22,000 visitors from across China - 5% more than in 2014. Most notably, the number of TAP visitors rose from 438 to 1,066, an increase of 143.4%.  This is an indication of high-end buyers’ huge interest in the event, as well as their recognition of the service quality at the show.  The many decision makers from OEMs and manufacturing service providers onsite were delighted by the business opportunities offered.  They greatly appreciated the chance to network with industry leaders and expand business leads.

In 2015, the evolving NEPCON China event saw more international brand names join, along with a greater number of industry leaders.  They brought the latest technologies, devices and system solutions. The products were displayed in a way that inspired creativity and curiosity.  The audience was wowed by the degree of advancement of the technologies.

At NEPCON China 2015, the SMT section attracted the most interest among visitors. Industry leaders like ASM, Europlacer, Fuji Machine, Mycronic, Panasonic, Samsung Techwin, Tokyo Juki, WKK and Yamaha all featured their leading precision technologies and introduced visitors to the world’s best electronics manufacturing solutions.

The unmissable NEPCON China 2015 was roundly praised by exhibitors. “JUKI has been part of NEPCON events for many years,” said Tokyo Juki Operations Manager Mr. Xia. “We are happy to use this show to meet new customers and close deals. We also use this event to maintain relationships with existing partners and customers. The services rendered by the NEPCON team were well delivered and helpful in making the show experience smooth and successful. We plan to join the NEPCON event in Shenzhen this August.”

Many new companies showcased and demonstrated their leading products and solutions at NEPCON this year.  These included GSK, LARGE, MOJE, TUJIU Commerce and Robo-Technik. The newcomers brought cutting-edge products that fully demonstrated the efficiency of advanced technologies. Taking into account the combined strengths of existing and new exhibitors, the huge promise of China's electronics manufacturing industry encouraged optimism among industry practitioners. A range of new launches and demos dazzled visitors as they took in the vast array of equipment.  At the same time, exhibitors provided comprehensive presentations and mentoring.

High-Level Reception Commemorates 30th Anniversary of SMT In China

2015 marks the 30th anniversary of the introduction of SMT to China, as well as three decades of NEPCON China events. To celebrate these milestones and tell the SMT success story to more people, NEPCON held two commemorative events. The organizers ran a picture show that illustrated 30 years of development in electronics manufacturing industry in China, as well as the growth of the NEPCON China event.

A commemorative gala was held for TAP members and long-time exhibitors. The reception was a high-end platform for networking and exchange, bringing together industry elites from associations and companies. In this informal setting, people shared their thoughts on sustainable development in Chinese electronics manufacturing. Over a glass of wine, guests discussed the serious mission of Chinese industry development. They explored industry trends as well as healthy development paths. The gala also provided a golden opportunity for networking and expanding business leads. Guests also have the chance to broaden their perspectives, which will help them to amplify their voices in discussions about the future of the market.

Business Leaders Gather To Discuss Smart Tech Age

Traditional electronics manufacturing is being phased out, thanks to technology growth.  New forces, represented by VOI, smart wearables, Industry 4.0, smart city and printed electronics, among others, are coming to the fore. At NEPCON China 2015, the organizers ran over 10 high-end seminars covering automation, informatics and professional technologies.  These generated high levels of interest among participants. They shared the latest technologies and solutions and looked to future trends that may impact industry growth.

Of many high-end forums, one of the most highly rated was the seminar featuring NEPCON and Smart Factory 1.0.  This was co-organized by Reed and the China Technology Automation Alliance. The seminar focused on transitioning from traditional electronics manufacturing to smart, automated manufacturing. Leading experts delivered keynotes, sharing inspirational insights with industry peers.  In-depth discussions were held, deepening the understanding of smart factories.

Other activities included the SMTA East China High Tech 2015, New Electronics Materials Forum, Telecommunication Smart Manufacturing Forum, Automobile Electronics and Parts Forum, 2015 China Electronics Industry ESD Forum, Engineers Salon and SMT Community Meeting, among others. All these activities impressed the audience, who benefited from the extensive coverage of hot topics by esteemed experts.

Innovative TAP Business Matching Service Well Received

To expand business opportunities for participants to maximize their ROI, the organizers of NEPCON China 2015 launched TAP business matching services. Huge business opportunities were created, and the TAP team facilitated the achievement of win-win results through pre-event communication and in-event consultation that provided fantastic business leads for exhibitors.

The TAP team scored big at the event. Through their energetic pre-show communication, they completed 625 business match-ups. Altogether 132 exhibitors benefited from the service. Onsite, the TAP team completed a further 109 business matches. Through post-meeting follow-up, deals worth a total value of RMB 300 million are expected to be generated.

Already 32 TAP members and 51 exhibitors have concluded initial cooperation agreements.  Among these companies are Taide Electronics, TZE Xi’an Research Center, Fujian Nanping Sanjin Electronics, Shanghai Fanyan Electronics and other leading OEMs, ODMs and EMS’s.

The side activities were well organized, deepening understanding of industry trends. The organizing work and on-site services were well received. They spoke highly of the shuttle bus service in particular. They thanked the organizers for the arrangement and looked forward to the next event, which they would sure come again with colleagues.

A Solid Foundation For A Bright Future

NEPCON China 2015 added an exciting note of its own to the electronics industry, impacting growth trends, future applications and industry dynamics. All exhibitors and visitors who came to the event benefitted greatly.

The range of in-event activities were designed to support industry development and drive industry growth in West China.  Reed Exhibitions plans to run a West China Electronics Manufacturing Summit Forum in Chengdu from 17-18 June, in addition to NEPCON South China, which will take place in Shenzhen from 25-27 August.  Leading international brands, together with the latest technologies and solutions to help the industry embrace growth opportunities and address manufacturing challenges, will be featured.
