Lite-On Technology expects 4 new businesses to begin to profit in 2016

EMS provider Lite-On Technology has started operating in 6-7 new business fields and expects four: automotive electronics, LED street lamps, industrial automation and biotechnology/medical care, to begin to profit in 2016, company chairman Raymond Soong said at the 2015 shareholders meeting on June 24.

Lite-On has become the largest Taiwan-based maker of automotive electronics in terms of revenues, Soong said. For LED street lamps, Lite-On has attained a market share of 40% in Taiwan and 40% in the US, Soong indicated. In particular, Lite-On has recorded LED street lamp market share of 100% in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Soong added.

Lite-On posted consolidated revenues of NT$230.632 billion (US$7.32 billion), gross margin of 12.25%, net operating profit of NT$7.129 billion, net profit of NT$5.680 billion and net EPS of NT$2.80 for 2014. Lite-On shareholders passed the distribution of a dividend per share of NT$2.02, NT$1.97 in cash and NT$0.05 in stock, for 2014.
