Flexible printed circuit lithium ceramic battery (FLCB) maker ProLogium is setting up a roll-type production line for FLCBs and will bring the line into operation in the fourth quarter of 2015, according to the company.
FLCBs directly integrate flexible printed circuits with lithium-ion batteries to make the battery flexible, ProLogium explained.
ProLogium produces 200 FLCBs a month currently and a roll-type production line can turn out a total of 0.8-1.0 million amperes worth of FLCBs a month, the company said. Compared with the existing process, the roll-type process is expected to reduce FLCB production costs by 40%, ProLogium indicated.
In addition to FLCBs, ProLogium has offered FLCPs, larger batteries combining several FLCBs, Logic Cells and Antenna Cells, the company said.
The positive and negative electrodes of FLCBs are made from ternary materials and graphite respectively. ProLogium is developing methods to replace graphite with lithium metal to hike power capacity, the company indicated.
