IC demand for mobile devices has been slower than expected, commented Wen-tsung Cheng, chairman for WT Micro. Third-quarter seasonal effects may not be significant for the company in 2015, Cheng said.
The overall IC market conditions in 2015 will not be as good as last year's, due to limited growth in the global handset market and disappointing PC sales despite the availability of new products running Windows 10, Cheng commented. Nevertheless, WT Micro will be striving to improve its profit and market share performance in 2015, Cheng said.
Market watchers expect WT Micro to report flat revenue growth sequentially for the second quarter of 2015.
WT Micro reported consolidated revenues of NT$47.95 billion for the first five months of 2015, representing a 19.4% increase on year.
WT Micro's shareholders have approved the distribution of NT$4 per share - NT$3 in cash and NT$1 in stock - in dividend for its 2014 operations. The company reported net profits of NT$2.25 billion, or NT$5.18 a share, on revenues of NT$107.77 billion for 2014.
